The Art of John Tindel
“Through the filter of an artist’s thought, imagination gains its physical shape. Dialog forms within these images, the complex interwoven symbols of language. From our culture, these details gain strength and pattern. History and environment seek a deep root within these patterns. As light attaches to a contemporary color palette, the emerging images showcase an inner dialog of culture and pattern.” – TINDEL
John Tindel is a skilled visual artist, designer, and illustrator. His work is deeply rooted in the contemporary, which he tries to understand and explore through the lenses of personal history and wit. His visual style is recognizable in the large variety of projects he coordinates and is defined by an experimental and stimulating use of techniques. John’s creative energy keeps him involved in several projects at any given time.
“The techniques used in the my artwork was developed over the last 10 years. Within the last 3 years a new technique has evolved using “one-time stencils” I hand cut directly onto the work using razor blades and tape. Through layers and repetition of this technique, the dialog, pattern and colors evolve and mutate into my newest work.” -TINDEL
